The Bonfire Learns to Sketch

Today I pulled out of my handy dandy backpack a Pencil Drawing kit made by Walter Foster pencil company. It is a wonderful little kit that comes with pencils, paper, erasers, sharpeners, blending stumps, a triangle, and a WONDERFUL booklet called the Step-by-Step Project Book. When I opened the book and started reading I was amazed at the simple instructions given on how to sketch. I got started in a matter of minutes and within about 30 minutes I had sketched out a nice little walnut. LOL Great I thought I can DRAW!!!! Next up the incredible edible egg.... Not so much fun... Do you have ANY idea how hard it is to draw an egg and make it look like an egg and not a rock or a football or.. or.. well anything but an egg? First attempt sort of looked like an egg but was entirely over shaded, second attempt looked like a football with spots. (It was supposed to be a brown spotted farm egg) So we shall see how the third, fourth and fifth attempts go.
Needless to say however, I was INSTANTLY hooked and I am totally addicted to this new hobby that my good friend Kate has introduced me to! Thank you Kate you have shown me so many wonderful new things over these past few months. You have opened me up to a whole new world. You are one of my closest friends and confidants. I don't tell you this enough but I love you dearly!

First Blog EVAR!

Hello my friends and welcome to "Conversations by the Bonfire". At this point I really have no idea what I will be blogging about but I just felt this pull to start a blog. I'm open to ideas, so if you have any lay them on me! It will probably turn out to be a little of this and a little of that. Some funny some sad but guaranteed to drive you crazy in the English department as I SUCK with grammar! LOL

Lately has been a really hard time for me personally. I don't know how much of that I will end up sharing on here but I think that writing, ANYTHING, will be very helpful to my process of healing so please join me on my journey.

Love and peace to you all,
Bonfire
